According to Jamaran, a ceremony commemorating the 29th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Afghan National Unity Martyr, Ustad Abdul Ali Mazari, was held at the Holy Shrine of Imam Khomeini (AS). Abdul Ali Mazari (1947-1994) was a famous political and jihadist figure in Afghanistan and the first Secretary General of the Shiite Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan. In 1989, by merging Shiite political parties, he established the Islamic Unity Party and entered Afghanistan’s political relations. He arrived in Iran in 1972, studied at the Qom Seminary for many years, and participated in the struggles of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Martyr Mazari returned to Afghanistan in 1979. The peak of Mazari’s political activity was in the last three years of his life as Secretary General of the Islamic Unity Party in Kabul, which led to his martyrdom on March 11, 1994 by the Taliban.
